About Saltram yachts

The Saltram design was created by Alan Pape, the well established Cornwall-based designer, and was exclusive to KR Skentelbery and Sons.

Production started in 1978, with the moulding of hull number 1, which became Grace Virtue, initially owned by David Walker.  The series closed with the launch of John and Paul Skentelbery's retirement boats, Talisman and Symphony
The boats were built in 31, 36 and 40 ft lengths and are double-ended, deep keeled cruisers.  Owners could buy a part complete yacht to finish themselves, or a complete boat, fitted out to their exact specification.

Approximately 60 boats were built in total and soon found themselves across the globe, perfectly suited to ocean going living.  Many competed in the Transatlantic race and are still now homes afloat for a number of owners.
